Gentry School 1913 Gentry School was originally on the Gentry homestead just east of Ashers Cane Bottom. The First teacher of Gentry School was Ivy Porter (1869-1952), daughter of Henry and Mary Catherine (Ulrich) Porter, and a sister to Maude (Porter) Costlow. Ivy was the great-aunt of Robin Biddle. Later on a new school was built on the Grant Carr place in 1885. Ivy is one of the teachers in this picture.  If you can identify any of the subjects in this photo please contact Robin.
