This old store was located on the main road through Cape Fair, near the post office. It was a gathering place for the local men to exchange news and tell tall stories. A huge old pot bellied stove stood in the center of the store. A spittoon was near the stove. One could hear the occasional ping of tobacco juice as someone would aim for the spittoon and get lucky.
