Pictured at left are Christian and Margaret (Snyder)Norris. The photo is believed to have been taken on their 50th wedding anniversary in 1917. Margaret was born in Germany. In 1854, as a child, she with her parents, emigrated to America. Christian was born in Ohio in 1839, and served in the Union Army during the Civil War. They were married in 1867, moved to Stone Co in about 1885, and homesteaded 128 acres of land near Galena about 1900. They were the parents of 12 children, and are both buried in the Galena Cemetery.
