Written records, both her marriage licenses and her own autograph book have Mary A. Gold referring to herself as "Mollie". She is referred to, often, as "Marean" by family.

The written marriage record in Newton County, Sept. 21, 1879, details the marriage of "Miss Molly (sic) Gold and Mr. H.T. Jackson...at the home of Sumner Mainard (sic)". Sumner Maynard's wife, Mary, was Mollie's first cousin, daughter of William C. Gold's sister, Rachel Minerva Gold Cavener.

A sister of Hugh T. Jackson, Mary Isabell Jackson, married Absolom Garrison; they had 17 children, of whom son William Harvey Garrison married Mollie Gold's younger sister, Mary Ellen "Maggie" Gold. Hugh's name came to me from a Bible record made by his older brother in the 1870's and from several family letters dated in the early 1950s, as well as the US Census for 1860.

Census records show William A. Jackson, son of Hugh and Mollie, living with the Absolom and Mary Isabell Garrison family in 1900 (the story, for ages, is that Isaac Rapp didn't want anything to do with Will Jackson). He is listed as their nephew. The Garrisons lived only a few houses away from Isaac and Mollie (Gold) (Jackson) Rapp.
