The cabin pictured below was built by Isaac Nickerson and
his son Joshua Nickerson. It was used a hunting cabin before the civil
war.
After serving in the civil war Joshua Nickerson moved
his family from Fulton County, Illinois to Stone County, Missouri. The
cabin was occupied when they got to Stone County so they built another
cabin off Highway 00. Joshua is buried in the Nickerson cemetery
on Highway 00.
This cabin stood through the civil war and was only recently
torn down. It stood in what is now the parking lot of the Kimberling City
Golf Course until 2007.
