Charles Edward Philibert was born  5 May 1844 in Taney County. He died  5 March 1918 in Stone County. On 10 May 1863 he was married in Stone County to  Sarah Ann Stallions Philibert. Sarah was born January 1842, and died 15 March 1902.  The child in the photo is not identified.

Charles was the son of Joseph and Peninah Yoachum Philibert. He served in the Stone County Home Guard from 16 June 1861 to  6 November 1861.  He served with Company K of the 74th Regiment, Missouri Militia from August 1862 until April 1863.
